Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started ?All you need to do is read the affiliate agreement and fill out the application form. We will contact you to determine the best type of connection. There are three types of connections:
- Have text or image links. We will know that the visitor has come from you.
- Have search box. When the visitor makes a search, the results page and the rest will be shown on web page.
- Have search box, results page and hotel details pages. The visitor will not be leaving your web site during the hotel selection process. Once decided for the hotel, he will be sent to our secure booking form and will complete his request.
- XML - You can connect to our XML interface to make your private label web site.
How does the program work ?The affiliate (you) places the link on the website. You can place as many of Hotel-Board links, banners and search boxes on as many web pages as you like. With your partner ID, we can track all the clicks and visitors you send us. So, after a visitor is redirected from your site to ours, we record that this visitor came from you. Then, when that visitor makes a confirmed booking, you receive commission.
Each visitor sent by you receives a cookie that remains active for 30 days, allowing us to track and pay you for the booking made by that visitor, even if he/she comes back to Hotel-Board directly within 30 days from the initial click through, without booking through your site.
If you use our XML option, you will publish your own pages with our hotel and rate information and redirect the customers to Hotel-Board at the booking step. These bookings will be counted in your commissions.
I have more than one web site, do I need another affiliate ID ?No, you can use the same affiliate ID with all of your web sites.
What is the condition to be a Hotel-Board affiliate ?If you have a web page/site, you can be a Hotel-Board affiliate.
Is there any cost for joining the program ?It is free.
Can I join other travel affiliate programs besides Hotel-Board ?Yes, you can.
Do you offer co-branding and white label ?Yes. We can provide co-branded or white label connection for you.
How are bookings tracked to my site ?All links from your site to Hotel-Board contain your unique affiliate ID, so that every time a user comes to us via your site, we know to credit you when a confirmed booking is made. Make sure that all links on your site are created using the HTML code generated for you, so that all visitors are tracked correctly.
What is a "confirmed booking" ?After a booking is made, there is a chance that it may be cancelled or amended. Therefore, we credit our affiliates 30 days after the client has checked out. This is to ensure that all financial transactions have been carried out and the final booking value confirmed. Your commission will then be credited to your account and paid out according with our remuneration conditions.
How much do I get paid ?For every CONFIRMED booking that you refer to Hotel-Board from your affiliate link, you receive 50% of the profit we make from that booking. Depending on the destination and our margins, that roughly equals to USD 10 - USD 20 in commission for each booking originated from your site.

As per Affiliate Agreement section 5.1 - The Company will pay the Partner a percentage of the revenue generated by sales resulting from this new cooperative venture. The transactional commissions will be paid according to the following outline:
Commission Paid = (CI - HI - (CI*PP)) * BCP
CI - Client Invoice (what the client paid to us)
HI - Hotel Invoice (what we paid to the hotel)
PP - Processing Percentage - 10%
BCP - Booking Commission Percentage – 5 to 50%
How do I get paid ?Hotel-Board affiliates have a choice of getting paid in 3 currencies: US Dollars (USD), Canadian Dollars (CAD) and Euros (EUR) as selected when you register. Payments are made monthly, in the first 10 days of each month, as long as you reach you minimum payment threshold. You also have 3 options of how you receive your commission: Paypal, Cheque or Direct Deposit. The minimum amounts paid are: $100 for paypal/cheques and $500 for direct deposit for USD and CAD or 250 for Euros . If you do not reach the minimum payment threshold in any given month, the amount earned is rolled over to the next month, until you have enough to qualify for payment.
How will I monitor my sales and commission ?We will provide you with a tracking & management area, which will show in real time all activity on your site(s), including booking requests and confirmed bookings by users referred by you. You will also have access to various payment reports, which will show the estimated amount earned at any time and history of all past earnings and payments.
