Those who travel through the low valley of Metauro are surrounded by a group of small hilltop towns that dominate the valley: Montemaggiore al Metauro, S. George, Piagge, Orciano, Mondavio, Barchi, Sant'Ippolito, Sorbolongo, Reforzate, on the one hand and Saltara, Serrungarina, Montefelcino, Montemontanaro on the other. They were built in Roman times, when those who lived there led independent lives and the village squares, patron saint churches, towers and forts were important meeting points for peasants, artisans and merchants from afar. There are many museums where locals are looking to collect and preserve memories from their past. The museums are of different sizes and types those who will visit them will find themselves putting together the complex puzzle that is the history of the area of Metauro. This spa hotel is situated in the centre of Montemaggiore, close to various nightlife venues. Guests will find restaurants and a tourist information centre in the nearby village of Fano, just 10 minutes' drive away. By car: From the A14 Bologna-Taranto, exit at Fano, then follow the signs to Rome. Take the supestrada Fano-Grosseto. After about 12 km, exit at Calcinelli then turn left and follow the signs to Montemaggiore al Metauro. After the junction of Villanova, continue right up to the top of the village where non-guarded parking is available. For those who arrive from Rome Autostrada del Sole to Orte, follow the signs for Perugia, then again for Cesena-Ravenna. Just after Perugia, exit at Bosco-Gubbio and follow the signs to Fano. Passing Cagli, Acqualagna and Fossombrone and exit at Calcinelli of Saltara, then follow the signs to Montemaggiore al Metauro. After the junction of Villanova, continue right up to the top of the village where non-guarded parking is available. By train: The hotel is 18 km from the station of Fano. There, you can rent a car on the spot. By plane: From Ancona Raffaello Sanzio Airport it is possible to reach the hotel via private taxi or by renting a car. It is about 60 km from the airport. This airport is connected to many European cities by some low cost airlines. From Rimini Federico Fellini Airport take a taxi or rent a car. It is about 70 km away. From Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport you can reach the hotel by hiring a car or by taking the bus shuttle to Bologna station and from there taking a train to Fano. The hotel is about 200 km from this airport.
