The building has a rather plain facade and looks a bit clinical.
The lobby is average in size, and it can be difficult to find the entrance to the hotel, as it looks more like a shop entrance. There are several comfortable seating areas just opposite the reception desk.
The hotel is situated in Berlin's Mitte, close to Alexanderplatz (800 metres), the Berlin cathedral, Museum Island, Scheunenviertel (Barn District) and the Hackeschen Hofen. Countless shops, bars and restaurants are all being within walking distance of the hotel. An underground and urban train station is only 800 metres away and there is also a bus stop nearby. The 'new centre', which is just 1.3 km from the hotel, may also be reached on foot. Zoological Garden train station offers numerous regional trains as well as alternative modes of public transport and is 6 km from the hotel. Tegel airport is 10 km away.
Built in 1970, the hotel has been completely renovated and offers a total of 155 rooms spread over 9 floors, of which 11 are singles, 91 are doubles, 15 suites and 38 family apartments.
