The Augustin Hotel is located near the harbor in Bergen, in a shopping district, convenient to all the major attractions. The hotel is only 300 meters to the fish market and 500 meters to the funicular railway. A friendly, family-run hotel (in fact, the oldest family- run hotel in Bergen), the Augustin was built in 1909 in the "Jugendstyl". After four generations, the hotel has added an annex, and has been refurbished. A new bar occupies the 400 year-old cellar, where a famous tavern formerly existed. The hotel has been carefully decorated with Norwegian art and the newest wing of the hotel features a contemporary design.
