The newly renovated Avenue hotel is one of the best hotels in Copenhagen. A design hotel in essence it retains the family feeling and ownership it has always had. The rooms and facilities exude style and inspiration for an enjoyable stay, while the architects touch can be seen throughout. And these little gems always take your attention, such as the delightful courtyard where the greenest of green plants, wooden decking, lanterns, and soft cushion seating make for a veritable city oasis. An excellent value for money property with the friendliest of staff and service, and all in a quiet but perfect location for exploring Copenhagen. Highly recommended. CW10/08
This classic building, over four stories, is traditional Danish architecture with rendered walls and large windows. It was designed by Emil Blichfeldt who also designed Tivoli's main entrance.
The lobby area at the Avenue is the heart of the hotel and focal point for meeting and socializing. The centre point of the lobby space is a huge horse shoe shaped bar and reception desk, to one side is where check-in is carried out while to rear is the bar. The bar has been designed with coziness and warmth in mind, and it inspires talk and relaxation with grey velour sofas from Italy, book shelves full of style and architecture books and a modern sandstone fireplace. To the rear of the lobby, which was designed by the famous architect Mikael Mammen, is a small shop selling many of the furniture items in the rooms as well as two computer terminals for those who do not have their own with them to use the wi-fi in the rooms.
This pleasant hotel is located immediately beyond the picturesque Copenhagen Lake.
