The hotel was the former summer holiday residence of Victoria Friedrich von Baden, Queen of Sweden who spent almost 20 years in the Island of Capri enchanted by the colours and the sunny climate of the Island .

For some 15 years the hotel served an official residence of the Queen of Sweden. This antique, rural house is sheltered by a beautiful park, rich in botanically diversity, with a spectacular panoramic view of Ischia Island. Throughout the years the hotel (known as "The House of the Queen" by the locals) has preserved its original flavour: subdued, elegant, stylish and tasteful.
