Hotel Information

As part of an excellent ski-resort, with exceptional customer care and attention to detail, its easy to say 'the hotel offers the complete family leisure opportunity'. As well as the outdoor pursuits the hotel has extensive leisure facilities, with an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, solarium, small gym and additional cost pleasures such as massages and manicure's. The hotel's policy is also to pay particular attention to children, through the running of a kids club and dedicated play areas. However, much more than this and some of the best skiing in Northern Scandinavia the area boasts, horse and sleigh rides, dog sledging, ice-climbing, guided off-piste, snowmobile safaris and kilometres of prepared cost-country ski-tracks, while in summer the fun doesn't stop, with horse-back riding, mountain biking, canoeing, golf, climbing and white-water rafting all being possible, but more importantly, its all able to be arranged and booked through the hotel. Fjallgarden is a classic mountain lodge. Dating from the 1930's, its red wood exterior is twinned with square white windows. The various pitched roofs, often covered in snow gives the building a picturesque but cliche look of a alpine house.

The lobby is a large open-planned space, consisting of cosy low-ceiling rooms where check-in and rest and relaxation can take place. Incorporated in the space is a seating area of comfy sofa's, floor rugs, open-place log fires and wireless internet throughout.

All rooms use traditional Nordic touches in their design, featuring lots of wood and light, earthy colours. They are medium in size and in exceptional condition, nearly all offer stunning views over the mountainside. However, the main point of note is that rooms are without TV, as the hotels philosophy is that outdoor pursuits are more than enough stimulation for the mind and body. Bathrooms are on the small side, with slightly dated facilities, although they are clean and functional.

The large restaurant is a key focal point of the hotel. It provides seating on two levels, with a raised platform overlooking the lower area. In keeping with the rest of the hotel, it provides a true alpine feel, with a large cosy log fire and timber structure throughout. On the top platform adjacent to the entrance is a self-service buffet counter from where breakfast as well as lunch and dinner is presented. The cuisine is delightful and based predominantly on local fresh ingredients. A wine cellar is located beneath the restaurant, and allows for guests to chose from a wide selection of wines which would satisfy even the most discerning palate.
