The medium sized narrow lobby makes extensive use of marble with rooms situated off the main lobby corridor. These rooms are used for welcoming groups and as seating areas and reading rooms. The atmosphere is most elegant and stylish. There is a more modern bright seating area under an atrium to the right of the reception desk. Elegant staircases lead from the central lobby.
Located in the very heart of the city, in the corner of Nevsky Prospekt and Mikhailovskaja Street, in the historical, cultural and business centre. Many sights, such as the Russian museum, the opera, or the ballet, are situated nearby. Nevskij Prospekt underground station is only a few paces from the hotel (100 m).
This 5-storey Baroque hotel was designed by the Italian architect Rossia, built in 1824 and comprises a total of 301 rooms of which 22 are suites. Facilities on offer in the elegant building include a foyer with 24-hour reception, lifts and a hairdresser, in addition to a cafe in the atrium, a caviar bar and several air-conditioned a la carte restaurants. Room and laundry service complete the offerings.
