It is a traditional building and is one of Edinburgh's most distinguished hotels. It was originally built in 1903 as part of the old Caledonian railway station. It does have a wing which was built in later years.
The lobby is large and is very elegant. There is a large staircase and a lounge leading off of it.
The luxury hotel lies in the heart of the city, at the west end of Princes Street. Just a stone's throw away there are various bars, restaurants, shops as well as historical sights are all waiting to be discovered. Excellent transport links can be found right outside the hotel. It is just a 10-minute walk to Waverly Station and the airport can be conveniently reached in around 20 minutes on public transport.
