Hotel De Moura

This hotel is located exactly in the middle of the golden region of Alentejo, in the small, whitewashed Moorish town of Moura. The folklore, handicrafts, monuments, history, architecture, cuisine, wine, music and traditions of the region of Alentejo all reflect its remarkable past, during which Romans, Moors and Spaniards successively left their mark. The town centre of Moura is a 1-minute walk from the hotel and within some 100 m guests will find a restaurant. There is a lake around 1.2 km away at the Alqueva Dam and it is 200 km to Lisbon Airport.

The hotel was founded in 1900 and is housed in a former convent building of the Militar Order of Sao Joao de Deus dating back to the 17th century, and set adjacent to the old Santo Agostinho Church, and the Olive Oil Museum of Moura. Nowadays the hotel benefits from the comfort of modern technology without losing its ancient features. The hotel comprises a total of 36 rooms (triple, double and single rooms), and 3 apartments. Facilities available at this air-conditioned historical establishment include a 24-hour reception desk, a hotel safe, a cafe, a games room, a TV lounge and a breakfast room.
