The exterior of the hotel is very modern and when the additional hotel wing is completed, it will wrap over the train tracks!
Again, the lobby is currently being completely renovated, however, when it is open, it will be very large and modern and will lead to a large and modern seating area and restaurant.
The Ibis Amsterdam Centre hotel is located only 50 m from the central railway station, within easy walking distance of the flower market, the red light district, famous museums and the theatre district. Public transport provides a direct linkwith the RAI convention centre. Four of the main canals are located nearby, which are the Prinsengracht, Herengracht, Keizersgracht and Singel. A good way to learn about the rich history of Amsterdam and its canals is to go on a canal cruise. Just across the street from the hotel you will find several canal cruise companies. Nearby you can go shopping in the Kalverstraat and the Magna Plaza shopping centre, or you could visit the Scheepvaartmuseum or Nemo science centre. The Red Light District, the Dam and the lively Jordaan area are easy to reach on foot as well.
