The hotel is a simple townhouse,typical of this part of Reykjavik, and though architecturally unremarkable, its pale yellow facade stands out amongst its greyer neighbours.

The lobby is small and simple, but welcoming.

Metropolitan Hotel is located in city center Reykjavik just off the central plaza in a quiet side street. Newly remodelled in 2004 with new beds, dining area, staff and lobby. The best value in a 3 star hotel in city center: location, comfort, modern and affordable. Accommodating and friendly multilingual staff, free breakfast buffet, tours arranged. High speed internet throughout the hotel.

The rooms vary in size, but most are small.They are simply decorated in cosy warm colours, with furnishings that are good quality, but aging. Both the rooms and the small, basic bathrooms are in very good condition.

The breakfast room is located on the ground floor, just off the lobby. It serves as a seating area during the day.
