The Exterior of the resort is made up of a large collection of individual buildings, mostly on one level. The overall feeling is one of relaxation and space. There is an 18 hole golf course as part of the complex.

Rooms at Millbrook are designed as self-contained buildings. The Village Inn rooms are approximately 50 square metres, and feel very spacious. They are beautifully decorated and furnished in the highest standards. Large king size beds as well as a lounge area. The bathrooms are also spacious with separate shower unit and bathtub. The rooms also have a small patio area, and because of their design also each have a small garden leading to the entrance. Rooms have tea/coffee facilities, mini-bar, iron and ironing board, and large TV's with cable channels.
There are three restaurants offering quite different food and beverages. The Club house is the fine dining restaurant serving the best New Zealand and Pacific Rim cuisine. Sala Sala is an excellent Japanese restaurant and the Millhouse Cafe offers an upmarket cafe menu.
