This hotel is 3 km from the centre of Vienna and 6 km from the River Danube. Vienna International Airport is 15 km from the hotel. The hotel enjoys good public transport connections: Franz Josef station, the underground (line U4), as well as the tram (line 5), are 5-minutes away by foot. During the cycling season Franz Josef station provides an ideal connection with Passau.

Built in 1900, this hotel offers 56 rooms and an ecological hot-water supply provided by solar energy. Further facilities include a lobby with a 24-hour reception and check-out desk, a hotel safe, a cloak room and lift access. There is a house bar for refreshments and aperitifs, a TV room, a dining room, a laundry service and a bicycle storeroom that can be used free of charge. A bike hire service is also available.

The house was built at the turn of the century, during the period of Emperor Franz Joseph. Originally planned as dwelling house, it became soon a hotel named""Egerlander"". After World War II soldiers of the U.S. allied troops were quartered in the building. At that time the hotel was named""Franz Joseph Bahn"". Not until intense renovations during the 50's, was the hotel named after one of the greatest composers. The hotel offers comfortable and spacious rooms all with bath/shower/WC, telephone, radio and satellite TV.
