The lobby is very cosy, with armchairs and sofa's and an open fire place. Like the rest of the hotel, it's very traditional, with chandeliers and old portraits adorning the walls. It's very warm and welcoming.

The Oud Huis de Peellaert, named after its first owner Count de Peellaert, is an early 19th century building which is being renewed and restored into its former grandeur in "Empire" and classic style with all modern conveniences. Located in the centre of medieval Bruges the hotel is only a short walk away from the main Market Square and many other local attractions as well as bars, cafes and restaurants. Hotel Oud Huis de Peellaert opened its doors on 15 March 2004 as a completely renovated 4 star deluxe hotel, situated in the historical city centre of Bruges. Since cars and coaches are not allowed into the center of the town, visitors can take a trip by boat or horse-drawn carriage. There are also two trains that go from Brussels Noord and central stations to Bruges hourly.
The rooms are medium to large in size but do tend to vary as the building is old. The are furnished and decorated in a traditional style, with dark wood, antique furniture. The bathrooms are also of a high standard and like the rooms may vary in size.
