Built in the 1860's, the Royal Ettrick Hotel was originally the grand town house of a rich Edinburgh barrister. The house was converted into a hotel in the 1940's.

This hotel is located just 15 minutes from the town centre and Edinburgh Waverley train station. Edinburgh Castle, Dynamic Earth, Holyrood Palace, the royal yacht Britannia and the Museum of Scotland are all within a comfortable distance from the hotel. Links to the public transport network are within 100 m of the hotel and shopping facilities, restaurants, pubs and discos around 3km.

Set within the mature, leafy Victorian suburbs, this hotel comprises a total of 17 rooms spread over 2 floors. Built in the 1860's, the hotel has the modern conveniences guests have to come to expect, whilst retaining the original character, charm and features of the building. Facilities on offer include a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, a restaurant and The International Bar, offering true Scottish colour and character with a traditional pub feel and broad range of regular customers and guests.
