The lobby is medium in size and very pretty with marble floors covered by rugs, flowers everywhere, and elegant furniture. There is a comfortable seating area tastefully decorated and with beautiful pictures on the walls. The lobby opens up to the 2 breakfast rooms, the bar, and the reading room. With its quiet location in a typical Venetian square, the hotel enjoys close proximity to the sixteenth-century Giovanni Crisostomo Theatre, today the Malibran Theatre, home to an important season of chamber music. The centre of Venice is just a 10-minute walk from the hotel, which occupies the spot where Marco Polo's house was once located. It is just 5 minutes' walk from the Rialto Bridge with its quaint fish market and the Church of Saints John and Paul, where the Doges were crowned and buried and ranks among the finest examples of Venetian Gothic architecture. In the immediate vicinity, guests can also admire the Church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, a veritable jewel of the renaissance, lined throughout with polychromatic marble. Visitors are advised to allow themselves the time to immerse themselves fully in the monumental splendour of Saint Mark's Square. Formerly an ancient convent, the hotel was originally built in 1500 and was renovated in 2005. It occupies two buildings in a central district between the Rialto Bridge and the Church of Saints John and Paul, and comprises a total of 53 guest rooms.
