The hotel is an unusual building, having been converted from the old customs house. It has an attractive brick facade.
The lobby is a very large and impressive area. Immediately to the left on entering, there is a seating area next to the gift shop. The reception is spacious, and at the other end of the lobby there is a long breakfast room.

The presidential palace is to be found close by and the city centre is some 10 km away and may easily be reached by making use of the underground train network.
