Theatrical lighting brings the environment indoors - the lobby ceiling is made of fabric with a mood lighting system designed specifically for the hotel. The lobby appears white, blue or yellow (like the sun) throughout the day. The hotel's elevators are a first in the hotel industry boasting waterfalls behind glass with dramatic blue lighting. Guests can look up the elevator shafts and watch its "inner workings" as they travel from the lobby to the Wet bar. Guestrooms are rimmed with blue neon lights above the ceiling mold. At night, the hotel looks like a "house of blues," visible for miles around. Indoors, the blue neon softens incandescent light. All beds in the City View rooms are custom-designed. Flexible lamps provide excellent lighting for reading in bed. A free-form glass worktable has a contemporary-design lamp and two-line telephone with data port. There is also an additional cordless phone in each room.
