Acquired some time ago by the present owner, the building changed into the hotel it is today following some interior remodelling. It is a luxury guesthouse where guests can enjoy the tranquillity of the centre of Cascais. Charming with a very personalised decoration, this beautiful hotel in Cascais overlooks the bay and was constructed under orders from the 3rd Dukes of Palmela, D. Maria Luisa Domingas and D. Antonio, at the end of the 19th century. It was then offered to the famous writer D. Maria Amalia Vaz de Carvalho, who went on to live here for many years. The air-conditioned hotel welcomes guests into a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services, a hotel safe, lift access and hairdressing salon.
