Also not far away is located the nature of the Oosterschelde where you can go seal spotting. The barrier (Neeltje Jans) is located 8 km away. There are many water based recreation, from kite surfing to sailing sloop and from waterskiing to sailing and diving to fishing. There are many opportunities to bycicle on the island. Nice places to visit are Wissenkerke with its historic streets; Kortgene also has a historical walk through the center. The Veerse lake is located within walking distance of the house. The North Sea beach is 8 km from the house and in 2012 this was awarded the cleanest beach of the Netherlands.
