The original entrance to the Castle is the lobby area of the hotel. There is a large reception desk and armchairs in an impressive setting.
The Ballygally Castle dates back to 1625, and the hotel is unique in that it's the only 17th century building still used as a residence in Northern Ireland today! The rooms are all individually decorated and contain all the facilities one would expect of an International hotel.There is a tiny old tower bedroom which many tourists visit and it is known as the ghost room. Lady Isobel Shaw is said to have thrown herself out, having been locked up by her cruel husband. All rooms renovated in 1999 or later.
The garden restaurant is beautifully appointed and overlooks the castle grounds. It offers both a la carte and table d'hote menus. The dungeon bar is situated in the cellars of the old fortress.
