Nestled in the tranquil Wicklow Mountains, this 19th-century Victorian farmhouse boasts a cookery school run by Irish TV chef Catherine Fulvio, and elegant rooms with mountain or garden views. Set on a 350 acre farm, it offers fantastic dining and wholesome breakfasts. With classic, Victorian design, a room at Ballyknocken includes period furnishings and an en suite bathroom, some with a luxurious roll-top bath. Majestic views of the countryside, Carrick Forest, or the mountains can be enjoyed in every room. Homemade granola, seasonal fruits, or traditional drop scones are just some of the choices from Ballyknocken House’s extensive breakfast menu. Dinner is a four course set menu served on Friday and Saturday evenings only. There are many restaurants and pubs in the neighbouring town and villages for dining midweek. The famous Wicklow Way walking route is located nearby. Wicklow and its golf club are both 15 minutes’ drive away, while bustling Dublin is 29 miles from Ballyknocken.
