Low rise resort, the architecture is a mix of tropical Kimberley house with Chinese influence. Walls are made of 'Australiana' painted corrugated iron (with brick walls behind). 26 acres of gardens with pandanus palms & gum trees, fish & water lilies in the lagoon. Great main pool area, as well as a quieter pool for those wishing to get away.

Pleasant, tropical style lobby, with outlook to the pool area ahead, and a shop to the right side. Many original art works throughout the hotel, acquired by the founder of the property - Britain's Lord McAlpine.

The hotel is situated just metres from the dazzling white sands of Cable Beach and 5 minutes from the historical town of Broome. Broome International Airport is 6 km from the hotel.

The resort was opened in May of 1988 and offers 263 rooms. It is now a Western Australian tourism icon and continues to receive accolades and awards against the toughest competition, having won one such award in 2007. The air-conditioned resort has a lobby area with 24-hour reception, lift access, bar, restaurant, hairdressing salon, laundry service and a kids' club for younger guests.
