The Hotel was built in 1915, in secessionist style according to the plans of the first Hungarian Olympic champion Alfréd Hajós. Several famous artists and politicians from the 20th century were reoccurring guests in the Hotel of a historical past; Even today a tablet keeps the memory of the favourite rooms of Móricz Zsigmond and Szabó Magda.
