It incorporates the modern while preserving the traditional features. This Pousada nestles within the village castle, with the old convent cloister incorporated, which belonged to the order of St.James.
It is not very spacious but cosy and welcoming.

These are spacious decorated with delightful furniture, terracota tiled floors covered with marvellous carpets and wood beamed ceilings from which iron lamps hang giving a medieval atmosphere.
It seats 140 people and food is good.It has won the title for the national cookery contest thanks to its gaspacho, arroz de frutas do mar (shellfish and rice) and vitela assadano forno(roast beef with rosemary). The menu is extensive and there are many good wines produced in the region.
