Nestled in tranquil surroundings overlooking the historic Richmond bridge, The Original Bridge Cottages (1823) were built by convicts in 1823. Each cottage features an open fire place and French doors which open on to a relaxing courtyard. Guests at Bridge Cottages receive complimentary port and chocolates on arrival. Both cottages are comfortable and feature electric heaters and underfloor heating. Each has comfortable queen size beds with electric blankets. The country style kitchens are fully equipped, a second living area has a dining and seating area with a sofa lounge, TV, DVD and CD player. Both cottages have a laundry with a washing machine and clothes dryer and a private bathroom with shower over bath, hairdryer, shampoos and conditioners. Guests can take the short 3-minute walk to local cafés, bakeries and restaurants which are located in and around Richmond city centre. Local historical sights such as Richmond Gaol and Richmond Catholic Church, which were constructed in the convict era are a 5 minutes' walk away. Hobart International Airport and Hobart CBD are within a 20-minute drive away by car.
