This is a stone whitewashed property built in traditional Mykonian style. It was formerly an 18th century mansion , and was renovated and converted into a hotel in 1976.

Despotiko was a mansion of the 18th century which was renovated and converted into a hotel in 1976. The land belongs since that time to the same family which functions the hotel now. An ancestor of the family was a Bishop who used durring the beginning of the 19th century to live there and meditate. As despotis means Bishop in greek the land and the mansion was named after his title. What guided the restoration works was the preservation of the original architectural style which reflects the cultural characteristics of that period. Today the hotel with 40 rooms has all the nessessary facilities to suit contemporary needs as well as a small bar and a swimming pool in the garden. The breakfast is served in the hall of the old house. Located 200m to downtown and 500m to the beach, the hotel has a marvelous view overlooking the town as well as the sea.
