The hotel is,as its name suggests,a converted monastery dating back to 1595.

The lobby is small and traditional in style. Adjacent to the lobby is a large lounge area with an open fireplace with traditional furnishings, antique rugs, Peruvian sculptures and oil paintings. For those suffering from altitude sickness there is also a place to take oxygen. In keeping with the name and reputation of the hotel it is of the highest standard throughout.

The hotel is an exquisite piece of architecture dating from the sixteenth century. It is the ideal place to stay during guests journey of discovery of the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu.
