The hotel enjoys an excellent location next to Hook Train Station (40 minutes from London Waterloo) and is just 0.8 km from Junction 5 of the M3 motorway. The hotel enjoys a central location for many attractions and sporting venues. Within 30 minutes' drive are Windsor Castle, The New Forest, Bird World, Ascot, Windsor and Newbury race courses, Reading Football Club, Stonehenge, Thorpe Park, Legoland and Farnborough Air Show. Southampton Airport is some 56 km away, while Heathrow Airport is about 58 km away and Gatwick Airport is approximately 89 km from the hotel.

Built in 1901, the hotel offers traditional warmth and hospitality in friendly surroundings. It comprises a total of 38 guest rooms. It also has two unique feature rooms. Previous guests include Edward VIII and Mrs Simpson along with Enid Blyton. It was here that she wrote her first book while working as headmistress at a local school.
