Waterwheel Inn Hotel

This hotel is located on the A93, the road running between Banchory and Braemar. Dyce Airport and the train station are 16 km away. The hotel is conveniently situated for the local bus services into the centre of Aberdeen (9.5 km away). The hotel was originally a 17th century working corn-mill and still today the waterwheel is a highlight of the comfortable restaurant, which offers guests a relaxed atmosphere and excellent traditional menu. Guests who prefer peace and quiet there is a bar in the winter garden. For banquets or conferences there are 2 function rooms available with a capacity of 20 - 80 people. The historic hotel also offers its guests an entrance hall with reception and parking for those arriving by car. Guests can also make use of the laundry and room services.

The conservatory is open from midday and the restaurant opens at 5.30 pm.

The original building that forms part of the The Waterwheel Inn & Restaurant dates back to 1600, and as the name suggests, its original use was as a mill powered by water. The waterwheel today remains a feature in the bright and airy restaurant, which serves generous portions of american, spanish and mexican style meals, alongside the more traditional fayre. The conservatory bar is the ideal location to relax and unwind. All of the 21 ensuite bedrooms are comfortable and bright. Some overlook the original stream that powered the wheel, and all afford views of open fields and countryside. All this less than 6 miles from the centre of The Granite City.
